A quick history of Flour tortilla, the flour tortilla is a variation of corn tortilla, and its name derives from Spanish and means small cake. The earliest known tortillas were made from dried-kernel native maize from 10,000 years BCE. It was the primary diet of the Aztecs and other Mesoamerican civilizations.

Ingredients:
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp salt
2 tsp baking powder
2 tbsp lard
1 ½ cups water
Directions:
Add and whisk flour, salt, and baking powder in a mixing bowl. Mix in the lard with your fingers until the flour resembles cornmeal. Add and mix water until the dough comes in, then placed on a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic for a few minutes. Then divide the dough into 24 equal pieces and roll each piece into a ball.
Preheat a large skillet over medium-high heat. You should use a well-floured rolling pin to roll a dough ball into a thin, round tortilla. Put into the hot skillet, and cook until bubbly and golden, flip, and continue cooking until golden on the other side. Then place the cooked tortilla in a tortilla warmer, continue rolling, and cooking the remaining dough.
