Ingredients:
⅓ c flour
3 tablespoons butter
6 large inside round rouladen
1 tablespoon Worcestershire
8 mushrooms, sliced
6-¼ dill pickle (optional)
Salt and pepper to taste
Dijon mustard
6 slices bacon
½ small onion, finely chopped
¼ c chopped parsley and more for garnish
3 tablespoons low sodium soy sauce (not traditional, but adds so much flavor)
GRAVY:
2 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons flour
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 325 degrees F.
Place the meat slices onto a flat surface, then spoon Dijon mustard over each meat slice and spread it evenly. Top each with bacon as well.
Sprinkle fresh parsley, onions, salt, and pepper on top of the bacon.
Roll each meat and use a toothpick to seal it. Coat each with flour. Repeat the process with the rest of the ingredients.
Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium. Add 3 tablespoons of butter and allow it to melt.
Add them in batches to the hot pan and cook each side for a few minutes until brown. Transfer them into a casserole dish.
In the same pan, add water and scrape the bottom to get the brown bits. Pour the drippings on top of the rouladen.
Add more water, low sodium soy sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir everything. Add mushrooms, salt, and pepper.
Place it in the preheated oven and bake for about 1 ½ hours.
Mix flour and butter until creamy.
Remove the Rouladen from the oven.
Heat the gravy mixture into a pan over low heat. Add more seasonings if needed.
Sprinkle freshly chopped parsley on top to garnish.
Serve and enjoy!
