Ingredients:
Tuna, 2 x 5ounces cans, drained
Onion, medium size, chopped
Celery, ½ a stalk, chopped
Garlic (1 clove), minced
Parsley, 1 tablespoon, chopped
Mayonnaise, 3-4 tablespoons
Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 3 tablespoons, divided
Mozzarella, ⅓ cup, shredded
Bread, sliced
Butter softened
Salt and Pepper to taste
Directions:
Step 1: Drain the tuna sauce and place the tuna meat in a medium bowl.
Step 2: Mince the garlic and chop the celery, onion, and parsley. Add them into the bowl with the tuna meat.
Step 3: Add in the olive oil, mayonnaise, and Mozzarella cheese. Stir until well combined.
Step 4: Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
Step 6: Brush butter on one side of the bread.
Step 7: Lay the bread in the skillet and top it with 2 tablespoons of tuna salad.
Step 8: Brush butter on one side of the other bread and place it over the tune.
Step 9: Check the bottom bread if it is toasted using a spatula.
Step 10: Place the tuna melt on a serving plate.
Step 11: Serve and enjoy!
