Ingredients:
1-2 c cornstarch (to coat chicken)
½-1 tsp crushed red pepper
3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
1 tsp sesame oil
½ tsp ground ginger
5 tbsp honey
3 tbsp soy sauce
½ tsp white pepper
½ c chicken broth
4 cloves garlic, minced
green onions for garnish
Vegetable oil (for frying)
Directions:
Sprinkle cornstarch over the chicken pieces, then toss until well coated.
Place the coated chicken pieces inside the fridge to chill for about 30 minutes or more.
Meanwhile, make the sauce. Add ginger, chicken broth, peppers, honey, soy sauce, and garlic into a mixing bowl. Whisk everything until well blended.
Place a frying pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add vegetable oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the chicken in batches into the hot pan, then cook for a few minutes until brown.
Remove the fried chicken into the skillet, then transfer them to a clean plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Repeat the process with the rest of the chicken. Remove the oil from the skillet.
Add the sauce into the empty pan and allow it to boil.
Put the fried chicken pieces back into the skillet, then toss until well coated with the delicious sauce.
Reduce the heat to low, then simmer everything for about 20 minutes. Make sure to stir from time to time. Remove from the heat.
Sprinkle each serving with green onions to garnish.
Serve over rice. Enjoy!
