Ingredients:
Sesame Chicken Sauce Ingredients:
¼ c rice vinegar
1 tbsp corn starch
⅓ c water
2 tsp sesame oil
½ tbsp sesame seeds
¼ c soy sauce
½ c brown sugar
Tempura Batter:
½ c flour
½ c cornstarch
½ c cold seltzer water
2 Egg whites
Chicken:
2 tsp sesame oil
¼ tsp crushed red pepper
vegetable oil for deep frying
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 lb. chicken thighs, boneless and skinless, cut into 1-inch chunks
Directions:
In a small bowl, add all the ingredients for the sesame chicken sauce. Stir until well blended.
In a separate mixing bowl, add all the ingredients for the batter. Stir until well blended as well.
Dip each chicken thigh into the batter to coat. Shake off any excess.
Place a frying pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add 3-inches of oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the chicken pieces, then cook for a few minutes until they turn golden brown. Cook the chicken in batches.
Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add sesame oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the garlic and red pepper flakes, then sauté for about a minute or until aromatic.
Pour in the sauce and stir until well blended.
Add the chicken back into the pan, then toss until well coated with the delicious sauce.
Remove the pan from the heat.
Sprinkle sesame seeds on top.
