1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 orange bell pepper, sliced

½ tsp black pepper
2 tbsp fresh basil

How to make Italian Sausage, Onions, and Peppers Skillet
Step 1: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Then, add the sausage links and cook on each side for about 2 minutes until brown. Transfer the sausage links to a cutting board. Slice and set aside.
Step 2: In the same pan, saute the onions for about 2 minutes. Add the bell peppers along with the garlic, salt and black pepper, and red pepper flakes. Continue to cook for another 5 minutes or until the onions are translucent.
Step 3: Pour in the chicken broth and scrape the bottom of the skillet. Then, add the sausage back into the skillet. Adjust the heat to medium and put the lid on. Let everything simmer for about 10 minutes.
Step 4: Remove the lid and adjust the heat to medium-high. Continue to cook for another 3 minutes until the liquid has evaporated and the sausage is completely cooked.
Step 5: Before serving, garnish with parsley and basil. Enjoy!
