These cookies are so luscious! They are not your regular cookies that it’s all about sweetness. These have kicked in it because of the cayenne. You have got to try this recipe. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 ¾ cups white sugar, divided
1 cup softened butter
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon of sea salt
2 large eggs large eggs
2 teaspoons cream of tartar
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, divided
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 190 degrees C or 375 degrees F.
Step 2: Line with parchment paper two prepared baking sheets.
Step 3: In a medium mixing bowl, add the butter, 1 ½ cups of sugar, salt, and vanilla extract. Beat until well mixed and creamy.
Step 4: Add one egg at a time and beat every addition.
Step 5: Add the baking soda and cream of tartar. Beat until well mixed.
Step 6: Add cocoa powder, cayenne powder, ½ teaspoon cinnamon, and flour. Beat until well mixed.
Step 7: Add in the chocolate chips.
Step 8: In another mixing bowl, add the rest of the ½ teaspoon cinnamon and ¼ cup sugar. Whisk until well blended.
Step 9: Roll the dough into small balls and coat them with the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
Step 10: Place the coated balls on the lined baking sheets.
Step 11: Place inside the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes or until done.
Step 12: Remove from the oven and let them sit on a wire rack to cool for about 5 minutes.
Step 13: Serve and enjoy!
Note:
For more flavour, add more cayenne powder into the cinnamon-sugar mixture.
