Ingredients:
For the Hamburger Steak Patties:
1 large Egg
¼ c bread crumbs
6 slices of bacon, cooked and chopped
1 tsp of seasoned salt
3 tbsp olive oil
1-½ pounds ground beef
1 large onion, diced
1 tsp garlic powder
½ tsp fresh black pepper
1 c all-purpose flour
For the Brown Onion Mushroom Gravy:
1 large onion, chopped
1 c of beef broth
1 c of water
¼ c of all-purpose flour
¼ tsp seasoning salt
¼ tsp black pepper
½ tbsp of Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Gravy master (orange top)
2 c of freshly sliced mushrooms
Directions:
Step 1: Add all the ingredients for the patty in a large mixing bowl aside from the olive oil and flour. Stir until well mixed.
Step 2: Form 4 to 6 hamburger patties out of the mixture.
Step 3: Dip each patty into the bowl with the flour. Make sure to coat all sides.
Step 4: Place a semi-deep skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 5: Add olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 6: Put the patties into the hot pan and cook both sides until nicely brown. Remove from the pan and place them on a clean plate, then set aside.
Step 7: In the same pan, add the onions and 1 tablespoon of water. Cook for a few minutes until caramelized.
Step 8: In a mixing bowl, add water, beef broth, seasoning salt, ¼ cup of flour, gravy master, and Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well mixed.
Step 9: Pour the mixture into the pan and stir until well mixed with the onions. Cook until the texture becomes thick.
Step 10: Put the hamburger patties back to the pan and coat each side with the gravy sauce.
Step 11: Reduce the heat to low and add the sliced mushrooms.
Step 12: Cover the pan and simmer for 20 minutes or until done. Make sure to flip the patties every 5 minutes.
Step 13: Remove from the heat.
Step 14: Serve and enjoy!
Note:
This dish is best served over buttered mashed potatoes.
