Probably the easiest recipe of pork roast that I have ever tried. All you need to do is to let the slow cooker do its thing and that’s it! Yes, you read it right! If you have time to kill before dinner, then, this will suit you nicely. I love the taste of the pork and potatoes after cooking it for nearly 8 hours. The natural taste of the two ingredients is what makes this dish very delicious! Give it a try and taste it yourself. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon pork rub seasoning, or to taste
¼ teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
1 (3 pounds) pork loin roast
2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into bite-size pieces
½ cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons butter
salt and ground black pepper to taste
Directions:
Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, add in the Chinese five-spice powder and pork rub seasoning. Stir until well mixed.
Step 2: Rub the pork roast generously with the mixed seasonings.
Step 3: Prepare a slow cooker. Arrange the potatoes on the bottom. Add in butter and brown sugar.
Step 4: Place the seasoned pork roast over the potatoes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Step 5: Cook for 6 to 7 hours on a low setting. Cook until the roast is tender or a thermometer inserted in the middle reads 63 degrees C.
Step 6: Transfer into a clean serving plate.
Step 7: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Do not add water because the pork and potatoes already have natural liquid.
Turn the setting to high after 7 hours and 45 minutes if it is almost done.
