I am a big fan of the Honey Baked Ham store. Their ham is beyond amazing! I tried recreating their ham using my slow cooker and it is super simple! This slow cooker version guarantees great results with the crisp honeyed edges that I am obsessed with!
INGREDIENTS
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 bone-in spiral sliced ham (6 to 8 pounds)
¼ c. honey
1 c. light brown sugar
½ tsp ground nutmeg
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground cloves
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp paprika
How to make Slow Cooker Copycat Honey Baked Ham
Step 1: As needed, trim the ham and place it in the slow cooker.
Step 2: Place the honey and butter in a small bowl. Mix well, then rub this on the ham, pushing it into the slices. Then, put the lid on and set it to cook for 4 to 5 hours on low.
Step 2: Prepare the oven towards the end of the cooking time and preheat the broiler on high. Using foil, line a roasting pan.
Step 3: Add the brown sugar, garlic powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, paprika, and salt in a small bowl and mix well until combined. Over the ham, press half of the mixture. Place the ham in the broiler for about 3 minutes until bubbly and caramelized. When done, take it out of the oven.
Step 4: Into a small saucepan over medium heat, place the rest of the sugar mixture. Then, add 3 tbsp of the ham liquid from the slow cooker. You can also swap it with water. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring often. Allow the mixture to boil for 1 minute, then take the pan off the heat.
Step 5: Over the ham, brush the glaze. Continue to broil for just 1 to 2 minutes.
Step 6: When done, remove from the oven and allow the ham to rest for at least 5 minutes.
Step 7: Serve and enjoy!
