Mouthwatering coca-cola pulled pork. This recipe has been my go-to and favorite. A no-fuss recipe that guarantees the best-pulled pork you could ever make!
Ingredients
Coca-Cola Pulled Pork:
1 (12-ounce) can of Coca-Cola
1 (3½ pounds) boneless pork shoulder
Coca-Cola Barbecue Sauce:
2 tablespoons vinegar
¾ c. ketchup
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
¾ c. Coca-Cola
1 tablespoon dried minced onion flakes
½ teaspoon salt, or to taste
½ teaspoon chili powder
HOW TO MAKE SLOW COOKER COCA-COLA PULLED PORK
Step 1: In a crackpot, place the pork. Over the pork, pour the coke. Put the lid on and set it to cook for 8 to 10 hours on low. Then, take the pork out of the pot and shred it. Enjoy the coca-cola pulled pork with your preferred BBQ sauce.
Step 2: To make the BBQ sauce, place all the sauce ingredients in a saucepan. Mix well and bring to a boil. Once boiling, put the lid on and decrease the heat to a simmer. Let the sauce simmer for about 20 to 30 minutes until very thick, stirring often.
Notes:
For this recipe, I used boneless pork shoulder. But you can also try another cut of meat like Boston butt or pork butt.
You can also use bone-in pork shoulder. Simply cook on the higher end of the cooking time.
You can also set it to cook the pulled pork for 4 to 6 hours on High.
Cook the pork on high in an Instant Pot Pressure Cooker for 1 hour. After 1 hour, turn the pressure cooker off and allow it to naturally release the steam for 20 minutes, then quickly release the rest of the pressure. Take the pork out and shred.
If desired, you can use store-bought in place of homemade BBQ sauce.
Make the pulled pork in advance and keep it in the fridge until ready to use. On the stovetop or microwave, reheat the pork.
Throw the pulled pork together, then shred. If desired, toss the pork with the sauce. Allow it to cool completely, then store it in a freezer bag and freeze. When ready to serve, thaw before reheating in the microwave or on the stovetop.
