INGREDIENTS
3 cloves garlic, minced
3-pound beef chuck roast
1 c. white onion, diced
1 c. celery, diced
1 c. carrots, diced
1 c. beef broth
½ c. red wine
1 (14.5 ounces) can of crushed tomatoes
1 (6 ounces) can of tomato paste
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
2 bay leaves
Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish (optional)
2 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional)
Kosher salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
How to make Slow Cooker Beef Ragu
Step 1: In a slow cooker insert, place the roast. Around the roast, arrange the carrots along with the onion, celery, and garlic.
Step 2: On top, pour in the red wine and broth. Add the tomato paste followed by the oregano, basil, and bay leaves. To taste, season with salt and pepper. Stir well and put the lid on. Set to cook for 6 to 8 hours on low or 3 to 4 hours on high.
