Ingredients
4 cloves Garlic, minced
4 Chicken Breasts, boneless, skinless
4 tbsp Butter
2 tbsp Balsamic Vinegar
4 Onions, peeled and sliced
1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
½ cup Parmesan Cheese, shredded
⅔ cup Low Sodium Beef Broth
1 tsp thyme
½ tsp Pepper
½ tsp salt
HOW TO MAKE FRENCH ONION CHICKEN BAKE
Step 1: Ready the oven and preheat it to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F. Grease a baking dish using cooking spray.
Step 2: Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Once melted, add the onions and saute until tender. Then, adjust the heat to medium-low and add the garlic, pepper, and thyme. Continue to cook until fragrant.
Step 3: Stir in the balsamic vinegar and beef broth, scraping the bottom of the skillet to release any browned bits. Let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes or until the onions are caramelized.
Step 4: Into the prepared baking dish, add ⅓ of the mixture, evenly spreading it. On top, add the chicken breasts and season with salt. Over the chicken, distribute the remaining onions and sprinkle with Parmesan and mozzarella cheese.
Step 5: Bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes. Remove from the oven when done, and let the chicken rest for a couple of minutes at room temperature before serving. Enjoy!
