2 tablespoons butter
fresh cracked black pepper
2 pounds shrimp
salt
½ c. dry Parmesan cheese
1 pound fettuccine pasta
Alfredo Sauce:
2 garlic cloves
½ c. freshly grated Parmesan cheese
¼ c. sour cream
½ c. dry Parmesan cheese
salt
2 tablespoons butter
fresh cracked black pepper
1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
2 c. heavy whipping cream
How to make Shrimp Alfredo
Fettuccine:
Step 1: Begin to cook the pasta at the same time as the sauce.
Step 2: Following the package directions, cook the pasta in a pot with salted boiling water until al dente. Strain when done and return the pasta to the pot.
Alfredo Sauce:
Step 3: Melt the butter in a medium, heavy-bottom sauce pot over medium heat. Add the pressed garlic once the butter has melted and saute until aromatic. Sprinkle in the flour and stir until blended. Then, gradually pour in the heavy whipping cream while stirring.
Step 4: Stir the mixture gently and allow it to heat through. DO NO let the mixture boil. Then, whisk in the sour cream, Parmesan cheese, salt, and pepper once the heavy cream is hot. Adjust the heat to medium-low and gently whisk in the grated cheese until melted and blended.
Step 5: Continue to cook for another 5 minutes over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally.
Step 6: Pour the sauce into the cooked pasta when ready, setting aside a little sauce to drizzle over the shrimp.
Shrimp:
Step 7: After cleaning the shrimp, de-vien and peel off the shells if needed.
Step 8: Place the shrimp in a mixing bowl and season with salt and pepper. Then, add the dry Parmesan cheese and mix well.
Step 9: Melt the butter in a large cooking pan over medium-high heat. Then, add the shrimp and cook until opaque. Flip and continue to cook the other side until it just turns pink and opaque. Once done, quickly remove the shrimp from the pan.
Step 10: Onto large bowls, portion the sauce-coated pasta and top each with the sauteed shrimp. On top, drizzle with the reserved sauce. Enjoy!
