Ingredients:
1¼ c milk
1 c cheddar cheese
4 Eggs
salt and pepper, to taste
4 English muffins, split (Bays)
8 ounces breakfast sausage, cooked and crumbled
Directions:
Apply cooking spray to an 8-inch square baking dish.
Slice the English muffins into 6 cuts.
Place ½ of the muffins into the prepared baking dish and arrange them in a single layer.
Add ½ of the sausage over the muffins followed by ½ cup of cheese. Repeat the process with the rest of the ingredients until everything is arranged in layers ending with cheese.
In a mixing bowl, add milk, salt, pepper, and eggs. Whisk until well blended.
Add the egg mixture on top of the casserole and spread it evenly.
Cover the entire baking dish with plastic wrap, then put it inside the fridge to chill for about an hour to overnight.
Prepare the oven and preheat to 162 degrees C or 325 degrees F.
Place the baking dish inside the preheated oven and bake the Sausage Mcmuffin Casserole for about 45 to 50 minutes or until done.
Remove the casserole from the oven and allow it to rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to use turkey sausage instead of pork sausage for this recipe.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them inside the fridge.
