My grandma used to make this delicious casserole dish! I am so grateful to her for sharing with me this recipe because now, I get to share it with you as well. How awesome is that? As perfect as this recipe already is, feel free to modify it a bit to your liking. Have a blessed day, friends. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
⅛ c vegetable oil
¼ c butter
1 c onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1½ pounds sausage kielbasa or smoked sausage, sliced ¼” thick
2 pounds baby creamer potatoes, washed, sliced in half
1 teaspoon Slap Ya Mama® seasoning
2 15 ounces cans of green beans, drained
1 teaspoon garlic powder
¼ c water
1 teaspoon pepper
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Rinse the creamer potatoes with water, then slice them into ½.
Add the potato slices inside a resealable bag, then add all the seasonings, oil, red pepper flakes, and pepper. Shake the bag until the potatoes are well coated.
Place a large pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add the sausage and water. Cook for a couple of minutes until the sausage turns brown and almost dry.
Remove the browned sausage from the pan and allow it to cool completely. Transfer inside the bag with the potatoes.
In the same pan, add butter and allow it to melt.
Add the garlic and onions, then sauté until aromatic and soft. Allow them to cool completely.
Transfer the sauteed veggies into the bag. Shake the bag again until everything is well combined.
Transfer everything into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Cover the baking dish with foil, then place it inside the preheated oven. Bake the casserole for about 40 minutes or until the potatoes are fork-tender.
Remove from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
Serve warm and enjoy!
