These cookie bars have always been my favourite treat to serve on Christmas! I am 100 per cent sure that your kids are going to love them. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 ½ c all-purpose flour
1 c old-fashioned oats
¾ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
½ c (1 stick) butter softened
⅓ c creamy peanut butter
½ c granulated sugar
½ c light brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 large Egg
1 large egg yolk
1 c mini chocolate chips
1 c Christmas mix peanut butter m&m’s
3 tbsp Christmas sprinkles
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray or line with parchment paper a 9×13-inch baking pan.
Step 3: In a small mixing bowl, add in the flour, oats, baking soda, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
Step 4: In a large mixing bowl, add the peanut butter, brown sugar, butter, and sugar. Beat for about 2 minutes or until fluffy.
Step 5: Add in the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla. Whisk until well blended. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the bowl.
Step 6: Transfer the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients and stir until well mixed.
Step 7: Add in the peanut butter, M&Ms, and chocolate chips. Stir until well blended.
Step 8: Transfer the batter into the prepared pan and press it on the bottom.
Step 9: Spread the sprinkles on top and gently press them.
Step 10: Set aside the rest of the M&Ms and chocolate chips.
Step 11: Place the pan inside the preheated oven and bake for about 14 to 16 minutes or until the edges are brown.
Step 12: Remove from the oven and allow the bars to cool at room temperature for about 20 minutes.
Step 13: Break into small squares.
Step 14: Serve and enjoy!
