This Rigatoni Pasta Bake is super legit! My only advice to you is to be very generous with the amount of cheese that you are going to add. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 pound rigatoni pasta, cooked until al dente
1 pound ground beef
2 links Italian sausage, casings removed
1 28-oz can crushed tomatoes
2 15-oz cans tomato sauce
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
½ tsp sugar
Salt and pepper, to taste
1 ½ c shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
½ c Parmesan cheese
Directions:
Step 1: Place a large pot with salted water on the stove and allow it to boil.
Step 2: Add in the pasta cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Step 3: Place a large saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 4: Add in the sausage and ground beef. Cook for until greasy and crumbly.
Step 5: Add in the tomato sauce, crushed tomatoes, and tomato paste. Stir until well combined.
Step 6: Add in the garlic powder, sugar, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Step 7: Simmer the mixture for 3 to 5 minutes. Add more water if the sauce is too thick.
Step 8: Add in the cooked pasta and stir until well combined.
Step 9: Apply cooking spray in a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 10: Add ½ of the pasta and sauce mixture into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle a generous amount of Parmesan and Mozzarella cheese on top.
Step 11: Repeat step 10 to make the second layer.
Step 12: Cover the baking dish with aluminium foil.
Step 13: Place it inside the preheated oven and baked for 20 to 25 minutes at 325 degrees F.
Step 14: Remove the cover and bake for another 15 to 20 minutes or until done.
Step 15: Remove from the oven and let it sit at room temperature to cool.
Step 16: Serve and enjoy!
