Ingredients:
1-pound raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
4 pounds ground beef
1 tablespoon minced fresh ginger root
1 shallot, minced
1 bunch green onions, chopped
3 leaves napa cabbage, chopped
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 teaspoon Asian (toasted) sesame oil
salt and white pepper to taste
1 pinch white sugar
1 (10 ounces) package round gyoza/Potsticker wrappers
vegetable oil
¼ cup of water
Directions:
Step 1: Pulse the shrimp in a food processor until finely chopped. Place it in a large mixing bowl.
Step 2: Pulse the beef as well until finely chopped and place it in the large bowl with the shrimp.
Step 3: Add shallot, ginger, napa cabbage, onions, sesame oil, soy sauce, salt, white sugar, and pepper into the beef-shrimp mixture. Stir until well combined.
Step 4: Spoon the filling in the middle of the wrapper. Slightly dip your finger into water and fold the wrapper into a half-moon shape. Seal the edges by pressing it.
Step 5: Place the filled wrappers in the fridge to chill.
Step 6: Place a large nonstick skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 7: Add oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 8: Place the Potstickers and fry one side for 1 to 2 minutes or until golden brown, then flip them over and pour in the water on top of each dumpling.
Step 9: Cover the pan and allow the dumplings to steam for 5 to 7 minutes.
Step 10: Remove the cover and cook for another 2 minutes or until the water evaporates.
Notes:
Place the uncooked Potstickers in a resealable bag and put it in the freezer.
