A big thanks to my dear friend, Pia, for recommending this recipe. I am so glad that I gave it a try because I never would have tasted perfection. Oh, man, you need this Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli in your life! You are more than welcome to add more ingredients if you wish. I am sure that you can do a lot to make this recipe even better. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 pound ground beef
½ onion, chopped
1 (8 ounces) pkg shredded mozzarella cheese
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
1 (8 ounces) bottle Parmesan-peppercorn dressing, divided
1 (13.8 ounces) can refrigerated pizza dough
½ teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 218 degrees C or 425 degrees F.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add the beef, then cook until crumbly and brown.
Add the garlic, onion, and bell pepper. Sauté until aromatic and soft. Discard any excess grease.
Add the Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Apply cooking spray to a rimmed baking sheet, then add the dough in it and unroll. Gently press it into the baking sheet.
Sprinkle 1 cup of cheese over the dough, then spread the beef mixture over the cheese.
Sprinkle more cheese on top of the beef mixture, then drizzle ¼ cup of dressing.
Roll the dough towards the other side, then pinch the sides to seal them.
Place it into the prepared baking sheet, then create shallow cuts, 1-inch apart.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 25 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove from the oven and allow it to rest for at least 10 minutes at room temperature.
Slice into even pieces.
Serve with the dressing. Enjoy!
