Ingredients:
2 tbsp butter
1 small green bell pepper diced
8 oz. brown mushrooms minced
1 lb. lean ground beef
1 small yellow onion diced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 tbsp ketchup
1 tbsp cornstarch
1 c beef broth
½ tsp Kosher salt
½ tsp fresh ground black pepper
6 brioche hamburger buns
8 oz. Provolone Cheese Slices chopped (use 6oz if you don’t want it very cheesy)
Directions:
Place a large cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add the ground beef, then cook until crumbly and brown.
Remove the browned beef from the skillet.
Add butter and allow it to melt.
Add bell peppers, mushrooms, and onions. Sauté until soft brown.
Put the browned beef back into the skillet, then pour in cornstarch dissolved in 1 cup of beef broth. Stir until well blended
Add the Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, pepper, and salt. Stir until well blended. Simmer for a few minutes until the texture of the sauce becomes a bit thick.
Remove from the heat, then add the provolone cheese and allow it to melt.
Serve on toasted buns. Enjoy!
