Ingredients:
2 tbsp butter
1 small yellow onion diced
8 oz. brown mushrooms minced
1 lb. lean ground beef
2 tbsp ketchup
1 small green bell pepper diced
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp cornstarch
8 oz. Provolone Cheese Slices chopped (use 6oz if you don’t want it very cheesy)
6 brioche hamburger buns
1 c beef broth
½ tsp Kosher salt
½ tsp fresh ground black pepper
Directions:
Place a large cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add the ground beef, then cook until crumbly and brown.
Remove the browned meat from the skillet onto a clean plate.
In the same skillet, add butter and allow it to melt.
Add the onions, mushrooms, and bell peppers. Saute until soft and brown.
Put the ground beef back to the skillet and stir until well combined.
Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, and pepper. Stir until well mixed.
Add the cornstarch and water mixture, then stir until well mixed. Simmer for a few minutes.
Remove from the heat and add the provolone cheese. Stir until well mixed.
Serve and enjoy!
