Tonight’s dinner will be amazing if you only give this recipe a try! This Cheesy Taco Pasta is the perfect dish to serve pretty much on any occasion! This is one of my favorite dishes. Ready in half an hour, this will be the best decision you will ever make today. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 tbsp canola oil
1 yellow onion (diced)
2 tbsp taco seasoning
½ tsp dried oregano
4 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
½ lb. large shells pasta
¾ c water
1 lb. ground beef
Salt to taste
Pepper to taste
1 c jarred salsa
1 ½ c cheddar cheese (shredded)
Garnish:
Sour cream
Chopped parsley
Cheese
Crushed tortilla chips
Directions:
Refer to the directions provided on the package of pasta on how to cook it. Drain and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process. Set aside.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high. Add oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the ground beef into the hot skillet, then cook for a few minutes until crumbly and brown. Leave about 2 tbsp of the accumulated grease and discard the rest.
Add the garlic and onion, then sauté for a few minutes until aromatic and translucent. Add taco seasoning, Worcestershire sauce, red pepper flakes, salt, pepper, and dried oregano. Stir everything until well incorporated.
Pour in ¾ cup of water and stir until well blended. Simmer the mixture for a few more minutes. Toss in the cooked pasta.
Add the cheese and salsa, then stir until well incorporated.
Serve right away. Enjoy!
Notes:
Serve this with more cheese, sour cream, and tortilla chips on top.
I highly suggest using lean ground beef for this recipe.
Add tomato paste if the texture of the sauce is thin. Otherwise, add water if it’s too thick.
For a creamy sauce, try adding milk instead of broth or water.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them in the fridge.
