This salad has been one of my favorites for years! This salad is packed with crunch and stuffed with delicious flavors. This salad pairs well with grilled meats or to use for barbecue sandwiches. This salad is also excellent to serve by itself for a lighter meal.
Since I was young, I enjoy vegetables. My mom makes the best veggie salad. She’s the one who influenced me to recreate this Broccoli Cauliflower Salad. A healthy salad that even your little ones will love!
Ingredients
½ pound bacon cooked
1 head of broccoli, chopped
1 c. mayonnaise
1 c. shredded cheddar cheese
1 head cauliflower, chopped
1 c. sour cream
½ tsp salt
½ c. sugar
How to make Broccoli, Cauliflower Salad
Step 1: In a large bowl, place the broccoli, cauliflower, bacon, and shredded cheese. Mix well.
Step 2: Whisk the mayonnaise, sour cream, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until well blended.
Step 3: Over the broccoli mixture, pour the mayonnaise mixture and toss.
Step 4: Serve the salad right away or chill before serving. Enjoy!
Tips:
Before cutting the cauliflower, first remove the leaves from the base. Using a knife, cut around the stem. At this point, the cauliflower florets will come off. Into bite-sized pieces, cut any large pieces of the florets.
You can make the dressing about 5 days in advance. But I prefer to make it the night before I serve the salad. During the next day, toss the salad with the dressing except for the lettuce. I suggest tossing the lettuce just before serving.
