Ingredients:
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 tablespoon freshly minced ginger
4 teaspoons packed brown sugar
1 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons rice wine vinegar
1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced against the grain
2 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
Cooked white rice, for serving
Kosher salt
Freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
Add sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, and cornstarch into a mixing bowl. Whisk everything until well incorporated.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to high. Add 1 tbsp of oil and allow it to become hot.
Sprinkle salt over the flank steak and rub it to coat.
Put the steak into the hot skillet, then sear each side for 8 minutes or until brown. Remove the steak from the skillet and transfer it onto a clean plate.
In the same skillet with the steak grease, add the red and green bell peppers. Sauté for a few minutes until they become soft.
Add garlic and ginger, then sauté for about a minute or until aromatic.
Put the flank steak back into the skillet together with the sauce. Stir everything until well incorporated.
Cook everything for about 2 minutes.
Remove the skillet from the heat and sprinkle your preferred herbs on top to garnish.
Serve and enjoy!
Note:
I love preparing this because I don’t need to worry about leftovers. It will be devoured in just a few minutes!
