These cookies, Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies, are soft and chewy, and every time I bake them, it turned out perfect. Begin with an excellent recipe for peanut butter cookies and add chocolate chips to take those cookies to the next level.
After finding this recipe, peanut butter chocolate chip cookies have become a favorite around my home. Everybody believes their cookie recipe is the best, and it doesn’t always mean much, but I promise it’s the best recipe you’ve ever tried for peanut butter cookies. I can say this because I’ve tried dozens and dozens of peanut butter cookie recipes and never really got excited about any of them., except this one.
Ingredients:
½ cup Butter, with salt
6 tbsp Sugars, brown
6 tbsp Sugars, granulated
(1) Egg, whole, raw, fresh
1 tsp Vanilla extract
1 cup Natural Peanut Butter-Salted
½ tsp Leavening agents, baking soda
½ tsp Morton Kosher Salt, coarse
¾ cup Wheat flour, white, all-purpose, enriched, bleached
¾ cup miniature semisweet chocolate chips
Directions:
Preheat oven at 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
Add and cream the butter or margarine with brown sugar and white sugar. Add egg and vanilla. Mix well. Stir in peanut butter, baking soda, and salt. Make sure it is well blended. Add flour and chocolate chips.
Drop teaspoons of cookie dough then flatten with a fork slightly on greased cookie sheet. Bake until just showing a hint of brown on edges for 5-6 minutes, and make sure don’t overcook it. Allow cooling for 5 -10 minutes on the cookie sheet, then transfer to a cooling rack.
Note:
Peanut butter makes cookies denser, and they need to be flattened slightly before baking so they can cook more evenly. There’s nothing worse than a burnt-edged cookie with a doughy middle. My kids like to help create the criss-cross pattern on the tops of the cookies, but if you don’t like the pattern, you can just use the back of a wooden spoon to flatten the tops slightly before placing the peanut butter cookies into the oven.
