This incredible recipe is super legit! I am so glad that I gave it a try because my kids could not get enough of it! Oh, man, I’m telling you, you need this in your life! Feel free to add more ingredients if you wish. I have listed everything you need to add and do so all you need to do is to follow them step by step and you are good to go. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
1 small onion, diced
salt & pepper, to taste
2 tbsp taco seasoning
1 tsp garlic powder
1 c long-grain white rice
1 ½ c beef broth
1 15 oz can corn, drained
8 oz tomato sauce
½ c salsa
1 c shredded cheese
Directions:
Step 1: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 2: Add the ground beef and onion. Cook for a few minutes until brown and translucent. Make sure to season with salt and pepper to taste, then discard any excess grease.
Step 3: Add the taco seasoning and garlic powder on top of the beef.
Step 4: Add the broth, rice, salsa, and tomato sauce. Stir until well combined.
Step 5: Allow the mixture to boil, then cover the skillet. Turn the heat down to medium and simmer for about 18 minutes or until the rice is soft.
Step 6: Remove the cover and put cheese on top.
Step 7: Cover and cook for another 3 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Step 8: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to use any type of rice for this recipe.
If you are using instant rice, reduce the simmer time to 5 minutes.
