Ingredients:
1 lb ground beef
4 cloves garlic
1 yellow onion
1 Tbsp olive oil
1 15oz. can tomato sauce
1 28oz. can diced tomatoes
2 Tbsp soy sauce
½ cup red wine
½ tsp dried oregano
½ tsp dried basil
2 bell peppers
2 cups elbow macaroni (about ½ lb.)
¼ tsp crushed red pepper
½ cup water
salt to taste
2 whole bay leaves (optional)
Directions:
Mince the garlic and slice the onion into small pieces.
Place a large pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the onions and sauté until soft.
Add the garlic and sauté until aromatic.
Add the sliced bell peppers and sauté until soft.
Add the ground beef, then cook until crumbly and brown.
Add the veggies and sauté until soft.
Pour in the wine and stir until well mixed. Make sure to scrape the bottom of the pot to get the browned bits.
Add the tomato slices, soy sauce, bay leaves, tomato sauce, crushed pepper, water, basil, and oregano. Stir until well mixed.
Cover the pot and allow the mixture to boil.
Reduce the heat down to low, then simmer for about 30 minutes. Make sure to stir from time to time.
Add the macaroni and stir until well mixed.
Simmer for another 12 minutes or until the macaroni is al dente.
Add more seasonings if needed and discard the bay leaves.
Serve hot and enjoy!
