I can’t think of any reason why you shouldn’t give this recipe a try. Aside from the delicious taste, this Monte Cristo Sandwich is pretty easy as well! You are so in for a treat! Enjoy this delicious treat in just 20 minutes!
Ingredients:
4 Eggs
4 tablespoons butter
4 slices ham
4 slices turkey
4 slices of Swiss cheese
6 slices of sturdy white bread
4 tablespoons mayonnaise
½ cup milk
2 tablespoons yellow mustard
salt and pepper to taste
maple syrup, optional
strawberry jam optional
2 tablespoons powdered sugar optional
Directions:
Lay the bread onto a chopping board, then remove the crust.
Add mayonnaise and mustard onto the bread slices, then spread it evenly.
Add cheese and 2 slices of ham over each bread.
Add another bread over the ham to make a sandwich.
Top each sandwich with 2 slices of turkey and a slice of cheese. Add another bread on top.
Add the sandwich to the bottom of the frying pan and press it gently.
Add milk, eggs, pepper, and salt into a mixing bowl. Beat until well blended.
Coat the sandwich with the egg mixture.
Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to low.
Add butter and allow it to melt.
Add the sandwich and cook each side for about 4 minutes or until golden brown and the cheese has melted completely.
Transfer the sandwich onto a clean plate.
If you want, you can sprinkle powdered sugar on top.
Serve with maple syrup or strawberry jam if you prefer. Enjoy!
