This will be the best Chicken Pot Pie you will ever have! This recipe is super easy. You just have to follow these steps, and you are good to go! A total family comfort food. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 c chopped cooked chicken
⅔ c milk
½ (15 oz) can of whole new potatoes, drained
⅓ c chopped onion
1 (15 oz) package prepared double-crust pie pastry
1 ¾ c chicken broth
1 (14.5 oz) can of peas and carrots
⅓ c all-purpose flour
⅓ c butter
½ tsp salt
¼ tsp ground black pepper
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 220 degrees C or 425 degrees F.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add butter and allow it to melt.
Add the flour, onion, pepper, and salt into the skillet, then stir and cook for 5 minutes or until the onion is soft.
Add milk and chicken broth, then stir until well blended. Allow the mixture to boil for a minute or until the texture becomes thick.
Remove the skillet from the stove, then add carrots, potatoes, chicken, and peas. Stir until well combined.
Add one pie pastry to the bottom of a deep-dish pie pan and press it.
Add the broth mixture into the pie pastry and spread it evenly.
Add the other pie pastry over, then seal the sides by pressing them.
Create slits over the top pie pastry. Lay it onto a baking sheet.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for 30 minutes or until the top turns golden brown.
Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to cool for 15 minutes. Slice into even pieces.
