This recipe has always been a part of my family since I was a little kid. I remember grandma used to make this Mississippi Bread Dip all the time! I am so grateful to her for a lot of things including this recipe because now, I get to share it with you as well. How awesome is that? Ingredients:
1 c ham, diced or sliced
2 c sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1 (16 ounces) package sour cream, room temperature
1 (8 ounces) package cream cheese, room temperature
½ tsp garlic powder
1 tbsp preferred hot sauce
1 loaf of French bread
1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
½ tsp onion powder
green onions, garnish
crackers, optional
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Remove the inside of the bread with a serrated knife.
Add cream cheese and sour cream into a mixing bowl. Stir until well blended.
Add the garlic, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, and hot sauce. Stir until well blended.
Add the ham slices and cheddar cheese, then stir until well combined.
Stuff the bread with the mixture.
Wrap with foil, then place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 35 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for 10 more minutes or until the bread turns golden brown.
Remove the bread from the oven, then sprinkle green onions on top.
