These cookies are super legit! At first, I thought it was not going to taste good, but clearly, I was wrong! Now, I can’t get enough of it. This will surely make it to your top list of recipes of treats. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
FILLING:
5 cups walnuts chopped in a blender
1 stick butter (room temperature)
⅓ cup brown sugar
¼ teaspoon maple flavouring (if you can’t find maple flavouring, you can use vanilla)
DOUGH:
4 cups flour
4 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
⅔ cup butter
½ cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 ½ cup raisins
1 cup milk
ICING (MEASUREMENTS ARE APPROXIMATE):
1 cup powdered sugar
2 tablespoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
Directions:
Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, add walnuts, butter, sugar, and maple flavouring. Stir until well mixed, then set aside.
Step 2: In another mixing bowl, add the baking powder, flour, and salt.
Step 3: In another mixing bowl, add the butter and sugar. Beat until well mixed.
Step 4: Add in eggs and raisins. Beat until well combined.
Step 5: Transfer the flour mixture into the butter mixture. Beat until well combined.
Step 6: Place the dough on a floured surface. Form the dough into a ball and slice it into four.
Step 7: Roll one sliced dough and form it into a 5×12 rectangle.
Step 8: Put ¼ of the filling on the bottom and fold the side of the dough over the filling.
Step 9: Add sesame seeds on top and lightly flatten it.
Step 10: Slice the dough into 1-inch pieces. This will make about 12 pieces.
Step 11: Hold each cookie and twist. Place the cookies into the cookie sheet.
Step 12: Place it inside the oven and bake for 20 minutes at 350 degrees F or until the colour of the cookies turns brown.
Step 13: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature.
Step 14: Top each cookie with icing. Serve and enjoy!
