These brownies are so good! They are the best of the best! You have got to give this recipe a try to taste perfection! Add more ingredients to it if you prefer. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
¾ c all-purpose flour {King Arthur All-Purpose Flour}
¾ c granulated sugar
¼ tsp salt {Sea Salt}
½ c (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
2 large Eggs
2 Tbsp lemon zest
2 Tbsp lemon juice
Tart Lemon Glaze:
1 rounded cup powdered sugar
4 Tbsp lemon juice
8 tsp lemon zest
Directions:
Step 1: Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees or 350 degrees F.
Step 2: Apply cooking spray or brush butter in an 8×8-inch baking dish.
Step 3: Juice and zest 2 lemons in a bowl, then set aside.
Step 4: Add in flour, softened butter, sugar, and salt in the bowl of an electric mixture. Beat until well combined.
Step 5: In another mixing bowl, add in eggs, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Beat until well mixed.
Step 6: Transfer the egg-juice mixture into the flour mixture and beat for 2 minutes at medium speed.
Step 7: Transfer the mixture into a baking dish and spread it evenly.
Step 8: Place it inside the oven and bake for 23 to 25 minutes or until golden and a toothpick comes out clean after inserting it in the middle.
Step 9: Remove from the oven and allow it to cool at room temperature.
To Make the Glaze:
Step 1: Sift powdered sugar in a mixing bowl. Add in lemon juice and zest, then whisk until well mixed.
Step 2: Spread about ½ of the glaze on top of the brownies using a spatula.
Step 3: Allow the glaze to set and spread the other half.
Step 4: Slice into small bars.
