This is the best pasta you will ever have! Feel free to tweak the recipe if you want. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 package (12 ounces) bow tie pasta
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 pound mild Italian sausage, casings removed
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
½ c diced onion
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 can (28 ounces) Italian-style plum tomatoes, drained and coarsely chopped
1-½ c heavy cream
1 c packed spinach leaves, cut into thin strips
Fresh parsley, minced (optional)
Directions:
Step 1: Place a large pot with water on the stove and turn the heat to high.
Step 2: Allow the water to boil and add in the pasta. Cook for about 8 minutes or until al dente.
Step 3: Drain the pasta and rinse with cold water to stop the cooking process.
Step 4: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 5: Add in the olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Step 6: Add in the sausage and red pepper flakes, and then cook until brown and crumbly.
Step 7: Add in the garlic and onion, then sauté for about 2 minutes or until translucent and aromatic.
Step 8: Add in the heavy cream and tomatoes. Simmer for about 10 minutes or until the mixture becomes thick.
Step 9: Add in the spinach and cook for about 3 minutes or until wilted.
Step 10: Add in the cooked pasta and toss until well mixed with the sauce.
Step 11: Remove from the heat and sprinkle parsley on top.
Step 12: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
Feel free to use any kind of Italian sausage.
Make sure to remove the casings of the sausage before cooking it.
