Ingredients:
2 ½ to 3 c Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
¼ c sugar
¼ c shortening
1 tsp salt
1 pkg regular or quick active dry yeast
½ c very warm water (120°F to 130°F)
½ c very warm milk (120°F to 130°F)
1 Egg
Butter or margarine, melted
Directions:
Step 1: In a mixing bowl, add sugar, 2 cups of flour, yeast, and salt. Whisk until well combined.
Step 2: Add warm milk, egg, and warm water. Beat until well combined.
Step 3: Add the rest of the dough and beat until well mixed.
Step 4: Sprinkle flour on a flat surface and put the dough on it. Knead until the texture becomes smooth.
Step 5: Apply cooking spray in a mixing bowl, then put the dough in it.
Step 6: Cover the dough and allow it to rise for 1 hour in a warm area.
Step 7: Apply cooking spray into two 9×1 ½-inches round pans.
Step 8: Divide the dough into two, then slice each cut to about 24 even pieces.
Step 9: Form balls out of the dough slices.
Step 10: Arrange the balls of dough into the prepared pans, then brush each top with butter.
Step 11: Cover them again and allow them to rise for 30 more minutes.
Step 12: Prepare the oven and preheat to 200 degrees C or 400 degrees F.
Step 13: Place the dough slices inside the preheated oven and bake for 18 minutes or until they turn golden brown.
Step 14: Serve warm and enjoy!
