Ingredients:
½ c parmesan cheese, shredded and divided
4 c mozzarella cheese, shredded and divided
12 lasagna noodles, uncooked
Tomato Sauce:
2 cloves garlic, minced
36 oz. pasta sauce
1 tsp Italian seasoning
½ lb. lean ground beef
½ lb. Italian sausage
1 onion, diced
2 tbsp tomato paste
Cheese Mixture:
1 Egg, beaten
¼ c fresh parsley, chopped
2 c ricotta cheese
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Refer to the directions provided on the package of the past on how to cook it. Drain and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add the sausage, garlic, onion, and beef into the hot skillet. Cook for a few minutes until brown and aromatic. Discard any accumulated grease.
Add tomato paste, Italian seasoning, and pasta sauce. Stir until well blended. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, add ricotta, ¼ cup Parmesan cheese, egg, parsley, and 1 ½ cups of mozzarella cheese. Stir everything until well blended.
Add 1 cup of the meat sauce onto the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking pan and spread it evenly.
Lay 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce in the baking pan.
Add ⅓ of the cheese mixture and 1 cup of meat sauce over the lasagna noodles. Repeat the process until all ingredients are arranged in layers ending with the meat sauce.
Cover the baking pan with aluminium foil.
Place the baking pan inside the preheated oven and bake the lasagna for about 45 minutes.
Remove the foil cover and sprinkle the rest of the cheese on top of the lasagna. Put it back inside the oven and bake for 15 more minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Remove the lasagna from the oven and allow the lasagna.
