This amazing Healthy Mac and Cheese is ready in just about 15 minutes! You will surely love this! It is like the light version of a regular Mac and cheese. Also, you only need one pot for this. The steps are very easy. I know that you will enjoy preparing it!
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons butter salted
3 c whole wheat elbow macaroni, uncooked
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
1 c marble or cheddar cheese, shredded
1 c whole milk
3 c vegetable or chicken broth, low sodium
¼ c Parmesan cheese, shredded
¼ teaspoon mustard condiment
Ground black pepper to taste
¾ teaspoon salt
Directions:
Place a pot on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add butter, milk, salt, pepper, garlic powder, broth, and mustard. Stir everything until well blended and allow the mixture to boil.
Put the macaroni into the pot, then cook for about 10 minutes or until firm to bite. Add more broth or milk if needed.
Remove the pot from the heat, then add the Parmesan and marble cheese. Stir until melted completely and well blended.
Garnish each serving with your preferred herbs.
Serve right away. Enjoy!
Notes:
I like serving this with honey, nutmeg, hot sauce, and a lot more!
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them in the fridge. They can last up to 24 hours. I do not recommend freezing this Mac and Cheese.
Reheat leftovers in the microwave for about a minute.
Feel free to use your preferred pasta for this recipe.
I highly suggest you grate the cheese yourself. So, it’s fresh.
I do not recommend baking this because it will become dry. We want it to be on the wet side!
