This grilled buffalo chicken is incredibly easy to make using just six ingredients! Tender, juicy, and seriously delicious chicken breasts that are grilled to perfection. Serve this buffalo chicken on a sandwich bun or chop it and toss it on a salad.
Ingredients
¼ c. olive oil
4 (6-ounce) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
¾ c. hot sauce
½ teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
½ teaspoon onion powder
HOW TO MAKE GRILLED BUFFALO CHICKEN
Step 1: In a bowl, place the hot sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well until combined.
Step 2: In a plastic bag, place the chicken breasts and pour the marinade over them. Seal the bag and keep it in the fridge for a couple of hours or overnight to marinate the chicken.
Step 3: After marinating, take the chicken out of the bag and discard the marinade. Grill the chicken. Enjoy!
Notes:
This marinade is great to use on any cut of chicken – chicken breasts, chicken tenderloins, chicken thighs, chicken wings, or chicken drumsticks/legs.
If using boneless or bone-in chicken, cook until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F.
I recommend pounding the chicken breasts to even thickness to ensure they cook evenly.
For this recipe, you can use melted butter instead of olive oil. If planning to use melted butter, let the chicken sit for 20 minutes at room temperature. Do not place it in the fridge because the butter will harden.
You can use buffalo wings sauce if you prefer a slightly milder kick. Or hot sauce for a stronger kick.
This buffalo chicken is mild. If you prefer this to be spicier, you can brush the chicken with more buffalo sauce right before taking it off the grill.
Feel free to add cayenne pepper to the marinade if you like spicier chicken.
You can also cook the chicken in the oven or skillet instead of grilling. I suggest pan-sear the chicken for about 3 to 4 minutes on each side, then transfer on a rimmed baking sheet. Pop in the oven and bake for about 10 minutes at 400 degrees F until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees.
In an airtight container, keep any leftovers and store them in the fridge.
