Ingredients:
Meatloaf:
2 lbs. ground beef
1 large Egg
2 cloves garlic (minced)
1 tbsp butter
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 c panko bread crumbs
1 c milk
1 medium-sized onion (diced)
1 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp thyme
Topping:
1 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp spicy brown mustard
½ c ketchup
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Line with parchment paper a baking sheet.
Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add butter and allow it to melt.
Add the onions and sauté until soft and a bit caramelized.
Add the garlic and sauté until aromatic.
Remove the pan from the heat.
Add the egg, ground beef, milk, Worcestershire sauce, breadcrumbs, garlic, onion, thyme, and salt into a large mixing bowl. Mix with your clean hands until just combined.
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking sheet and form it into a loaf.
Run a knife on top to create a crisscross design.
Place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, add mustard, brown sugar, and ketchup. Stir until well blended.
Brush the ketchup mixture over the meatloaf, then bake for another 30 minutes or until done.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for a few minutes at room temperature.
Serve warm and enjoy!
