I love easy recipes and this Garlic Shrimp Pasta Aglio E Olio Recipe is one of the simplest pasta recipes yet. This delicious pasta and shrimp dish is made with just a few readily available ingredients. Throw this together in under thirty minutes and serve with garlic bread or by itself for a light, restaurant-quality meal.
This Garlic Shrimp Pasta Aglio E Olio is lightly flavored with herbs and red pepper flakes. I always add some cheese because cheese makes everything better! There are great variations you can try. I sometimes replace shrimp with crispy bacon, and it’s as amazing! Instead of parsley, you can add spring onion greens to the pasta for a different take. Also, feel free to add veggies or other meat such as chicken, fish, etc. For some crunch, you can also toss in roasted nuts to the pasta. Kale is my favorite addition. I blanch it before adding it to the oil.
Ingredients
8-10 Shrimps (Cleaned)
4 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 tsp Garlic (Minced)
½ tsp Red Chilli Flakes
50 grams Parmesan Cheese (Grated)
300 grams Spaghetti
2 tbsp Parsley (Chopped)
How to make Garlic Shrimp Pasta Aglio E Olio
Step 1: Following the package directions, cook the pasta in a large pot with boiling salted water until al dente.
Step 2: In the meantime, heat Extra Virgin Olive oil in a pan. Once hot, add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until aromatic. Next, add the shrimp and red chili flakes. Continue to cook for another 30 seconds.
Step 3: Then, pour half a cup of water from the boiling pasta into the pan and cook for additional 2 minutes.
Step 4: Once the spaghetti is done, drain and transfer to the pan. Add the parsley and toss well.
Step 5: Take the pan off the heat when done, and sprinkle the pasta with Parmesan cheese.
Step 6: Serve right away. Enjoy!
Note:
If you like slightly overcooked pasta, you can cook it for one extra minute.
