Are you planning on serving curry for dinner? Then, curry will not be complete without this amazing Garlic Naan! I can’t believe how easy it is to make these. I have listed all the ingredients and the steps so all you need to do is to follow them and they will guide you to perfection. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
½ cup of warm water
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
For the Garlic Butter:
¼ cup butter
2 cloves garlic, minced
¼ cup plain yoghurt
2 cups bread flour, or more as needed
1 teaspoon kosher salt
¼ cup chopped cilantro
Directions:
Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, add the sugar, water, and yeast. Stir until well mixed. Let it sit for 15 minutes or until the yeast becomes foamy.
Step 2: Place a pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 3: Add the butter and allow it to melt. Add in the garlic and stir a little. Remove from the heat and set aside.
Step 4: Add the bread flour, 1 tablespoon of the garlic butter, yoghurt, and salt into the bowl with the yeast. Stir until it forms a dough. Knead the dough by hand. Add more water and flour if necessary.
Step 5: Transfer the dough onto a flat surface and knead further for 3 to 4 minutes until the dough is nice and thin.
Step 6: Place the dough into a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with garlic butter and cover for 2 hours. This will help double its volume.
Step 7: Place the dough on the counter and cut it into 6 pieces rectangularly.
Step 8: Form each piece into a small ball and sprinkle it with flour. Cover the rolls with plastic wrap for 15 to 20 minutes or until puffed up.
Step 9: Form ⅛-inch thick oval shapes off the balls and sprinkle cilantro over and press gently.
Step 10: Place a skillet on the stove for 5 minutes and allow it to become hot. Place the naan and cook for 1 to 2 minutes on both sides until it bubbles.
Step 11: Place the naans on a clean plate and brush each with the garlic butter sauce.
Step 12: Serve and enjoy!
Notes:
You can use all-purpose flour in exchange for bread flour.
If you do not have kosher salt, you can use fine salt instead.
