Ingredients:
1 Pane Di Casa Vienna or Sourdough loaf of bread, unsliced
⅔ c butter melted
4 cloves garlic crushed (or 1 tbsp minced garlic)
⅓ c pizza sauce
¼ red onion finely chopped
1 large ripe tomato, finely chopped
3-½ ounces | 100 grams mini pepperoni slices
Fresh basil leaves finely shredded
¾ c shredded mozzarella cheese
1 tbsp dried Italian herbs or Italian seasoning
Directions:
Prepare the oven and preheat to 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
Add the crushed garlic and melted butter into a mixing bowl. Stir until well mixed.
Put the bread onto a clean cutting board, then use a sharp knife to slice it diagonally until you make diamond shapes. Make sure to make shallow slices only.
Line with foil a baking sheet, then place the bread on it.
Drizzle ½ of the butter garlic in the middle of each wedge. Drizzle the pizza sauce as well.
Arrange the tomatoes, pepperoni slices, onions, cheese, and basil over the bread.
Drizzle the rest of the garlic butter on top.
Sprinkle Italian herbs over the garlic butter layer.
Cover it with aluminum foil, then place it inside the preheated oven and bake for about 20 minutes or until the cheese is melted completely.
Remove the cover and bake for another 10 minutes.
Remove from the oven and let it rest at room temperature to cool for a few minutes.
Slice into small pieces.
Serve and enjoy!
