Ingredients:
5 tbsp Butter
2 Medium Yellow Onions, Thinly Sliced
1 large egg
2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce Divided
2 ¼ c Beef Broth, Divided
1 ½ lb Lean Ground Beef
⅓ c Panko Breadcrumbs
2 tsp Italian Seasoning
2 tsp garlic powder
Salt & Pepper, To Taste
⅓ c Flour
8 Slices Provolone Cheese
½ c Shredded Parmesan Cheese
Directions:
Step 1: Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Step 2: Add in the butter and allow it to melt.
Step 3: Add in the onions, ¼ cup of beef broth, and 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce. Stir until well combined.
Step 4: Cook the onions for 6 minutes while stirring from time to time or until done.
Step 5: In a large mixing bowl, add in the ground beef, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, egg, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, breadcrumbs, salt, and pepper. Stir until well combined.
Step 6: Form 5 even balls out of the mixture and slightly press them to flatten.
Step 7: Push the onions to the side and add in the patties.
Step 8: Cook the patties for 4 minutes on each side.
Step 9: Place the cooked patties on a clean plate, then set aside.
Step 10: Stir in the flour into the onions for 1 minute.
Step 11: Add in the rest of the beef broth and stir until well combined. Make sure to scrape the bottom to get the brown bits.
Step 12: Turn the heat down to medium-low and put the patties back.
Step 13: Top each patty with a generous amount of cheese.
Step 14: Cover the skillet and allow it to simmer for 6 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Step 15: Remove from the heat and allow it to cool at room temperature.
Step 16: Serve and enjoy!
