These heavenly pastries are the ultimate treats! My kids could not get enough of these French Apple Pastries. I always make sure that I have these on our table. In just about an hour, you will enjoy these treats. Serve them with your favourite cup of coffee, and you have yourself a snack to remember! Ingredients:
1 package of Wewalka Puff Pastry
½ (120ml) c of unsweetened apple sauce
5 small Gala apples
1 egg, beaten
¼ cup (60ml) of apple jelly
powdered sugar for dusting
Directions:
Ready the oven and preheat to 425 degrees F.
Slice the peeled apples into small 4 pieces.
Slice each apple cut into thin pieces.
Unroll the puff pastry and let them rest on parchment paper.
Slice each puff pastry into three strips vertically, then slice each strip into 9 even squares. Arrange them onto parchment paper.
Brush egg washes on the sides of each pastry square.
Add 1 ½ tablespoons of apple sauce in the centre of each pastry square, then top it with apple cheek.
Fold the sides, then brush each with egg wash again.
Bake inside the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until done.
Meanwhile, place a saucepan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Add the apple jelly and heat until melted completely.
Brush each apple pastry with the apple jelly sauce.
Allow them to cool for about 10 minutes at room temperature.
Sprinkle powdered sugar over the apple pastries.
Serve and enjoy!
