Noodles, marinara sauce, meatballs, and a generous amount of cheese! This Baked Spaghetti & Meatballs dish is a total family favorite! This recipe will not disappoint you at all! I suggest you add a generous amount of cheese. Thank me later! Enjoy!
Ingredients:
¾ spaghetti noodles
½ yellow onion, diced
24 ounces jar marinara sauce I used San Marzano Sauce
1-2 c grated cheese I used half, Colby-jack, half mozzarella
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
½ c grated Parmesan
Meatballs I used about 1 ½-ounce homemade meatballs **Meatballs were fully cooked
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cloves garlic, crushed
Directions:
Place a large cast-iron skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-low.
Add olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the onions, then sauté for a few minutes until translucent.
Add garlic, then sauté for about a minute or until aromatic.
Add the cooked meatballs, then stir until well-mixed.
Add the Italian seasoning and marinara sauce, then stir again until well blended. Simmer for 20 to 30 minutes.
Place a large pot with water on the stove and turn the heat to high. Allow the water to boil.
Add the pasta noodles, then cook for a few minutes until al dente.
Remove the meatballs from the skillet and set them aside.
Transfer the cooked noodles with ½ cup of the pasta water into the skillet with the marinara sauce, then toss until well-coated.
Place the meatballs over the spaghetti noodles.
Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the dish. Remove from the heat.
Prepare the oven and preheat to 175 degrees C or 350 degrees F.
Place the skillet in the preheated oven and bake for about 20 to 30 minutes or until the cheese has melted completely.
Remove from the oven.
