Packed with flavor, super hearty, and an easy side dish that pairs perfectly with just about anything! This sausage, green bean potatoes casserole is my family’s favorite dinner dish. It is packed with kielbasa sausage, tender baby creamer potatoes, and green beans. Everything is perfectly seasoned, then baked to perfection!
INGREDIENTS
⅛ c. vegetable oil
¼ c. butter
1½ pounds sausage, kielbasa or smoked sausage, sliced ¼-inch thick
2 15-ounces cans of green beans, drained
2 pounds baby creamer potatoes, washed, sliced in half
1 c. onions, chopped
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
¼ c. water
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon Slap Ya Mama® seasoning
How to make Sausage, Green Bean Potato Casserole
Step 1: Prepare the oven. Preheat it to 400 degrees. Using a non-stick spray, grease a 9 x 13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Wash and cut the creamer potatoes in half. Then, add them in a sealable gallon-size baggie. Add the oil along with the seasonings, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Seal the bag and shake well.
Step 3: Place the sausage and water in a large frying pan. Cook on medium-high heat or until the sausage has browned and most of the water has evaporated.
Step 4: Set the sausage aside to cool. Once cool enough, add the sausage to the baggie.
Step 5: In a frying pan, melt the butter. Once melted, add the onions and garlic. Saute until the onions are translucent.
Step 6: Allow the onions and garlic to cool for a couple of minutes, then add them to the baggie. Seal the baggie and shake to mix.
Step 7: Into the baggie, add the green beans. Shake again, then transfer the contents of the baggie into the prepared baking dish.
Step 8: Using foil, tent the baking dish. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 40 minutes or until the potatoes are tender.
Step 9: Take the dish out of the oven when done and serve the casserole immediately. Enjoy!
