Very comforting, mouthwatering, and incredibly easy to make. These Salisbury Steak Meatballs are a must-try! The meatballs are perfectly seasoned, tender, and smothered in a rich gravy. For a filling meal, serve this dish over mashed potatoes.
INGREDIENTS
Meatballs:
4-5 dashes of Worcestershire Sauce
2 lbs Lean Ground Beef
2 tsp Beef Bouillon Granules
1 tbsp Ketchup
Salt And Pepper, to taste
⅔ c. Seasoned Breadcrumbs
2 tsp Ground Mustard
Gravy:
8 oz white mushrooms, sliced (can sub two 3 oz. cans of mushrooms)
1 medium Onion, diced
32 oz. Beef Broth
1 tbsp Ketchup
2 tsp Kitchen Bouquet
4 dashes Worcestershire
Salt & Pepper, to taste
3 tbsp of Corn Starch dissolved in 3 tbsp water
HOW TO MAKE SALISBURY STEAK MEATBALLS
Step 1: Place the ground beef in a bowl along with the meat ingredients. Mix well until just combined, then shape the mixture into balls.
Step 2: In a skillet, heat a few tbsp of oil. Once hot, add the meatballs and cook over medium heat, rotating the balls occasionally until all sides are browned. Set the meatballs aside when done.
Step 3: Once all the meatballs are seared, remove any excess grease from the pan, but DO NOT wash the pan. In the same pan, add 2 tbsp of butter. Then, stir in the sliced onions and cook over medium-high heat for about 5 to 10 minutes or until the onions are golden brown, tender, and aromatic. Next, add the mushrooms and continue to cook for a few minutes more.
Step 4: Adjust the heat to medium, then pour in the beef stock. Add the Worcestershire sauce and ketchup. Stir and let everything simmer for about 10 minutes. Then, stir in the Kitchen Bouquet and cornstarch mixture. At this point, the mixture should be thick. To taste, season with salt and pepper.
Step 5: To the gravy, add the meatballs and adjust the heat to low. Put the lid on and continue to cook for additional 20 to 30 minutes until the meatballs are tender.
Step 6: Remove from the heat when done and serve the Salisbury Steak Meatballs right away with mashed potatoes. Enjoy!
