This Easy Pepper Steak is simple yet very delicious! This recipe will only take you about an hour to prepare. Perfect for a simple family dinner! Serve this over rice, and you have yourself a meal to remember. Don’t forget to spoon the delicious sauce over. You are so in for a treat. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
2 garlic cloves, minced
2 medium green peppers, cut into strips
1 c thinly sliced onion
1 lb. beef top round steak, cut into ¼-inch x 2-inch strips
1 can (10-½ oz.) beef broth
1 tbsp paprika
2 fresh tomatoes, peeled and cut into wedges
2 tbsp reduced-sodium soy sauce
2 tbsp butter
⅓ c cold water
2 tbsp cornstarch
Cooked rice
Directions:
Sprinkle paprika over the steak.
Place a large skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium-high.
Add butter and allow it to melt.
Add the beef into the hot skillet, then cook for a few minutes until brown.
Add garlic and broth, then stir until well mixed.
Cover the skillet, then simmer the mixture for about 30 minutes.
Add onion and peppers, then stir until just mixed. Cover the skillet again and simmer for 5 more minutes.
In a mixing bowl, add water, soy sauce, and cornstarch. Stir until well blended.
Pour the slurry into the skillet, then stir until well blended. Simmer for a few more minutes until thick.
Add the tomatoes, then stir until well mixed.
Serve right away over rice. Enjoy!
Notes:
Use a meat mallet to gently pound each beef. This will help cook them easier.
Place any leftovers in an airtight container, then place them inside the fridge or freezer. Reheat on the stove for a few minutes.
