I always want the best for my family that’s why I always look for recipes online. This Easy Instant Pot Sausage and Rice was a blessing. My kids love it so much that this was probably my fifth time cooking it this week! Oh, man, you have got to give this recipe a try. I promise you that it is worth all your time and effort! Feel free to add more ingredients if you prefer. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 c frozen peas thawed
1 c long-grain rice
3 cloves garlic minced
1 lb. sliced sausage
½ tsp smoked paprika
1 ½ c chicken broth
1 medium yellow onion minced
½ tsp salt
½ tsp ground black pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
Directions:
Press the “Sauté” button on the Instant Pot.
Add olive oil and allow it to become hot.
Add the garlic and onion. Sauté until aromatic and translucent.
Add the sliced sausage, then cook until brown and crumbly.
Add the seasonings, rice, and chicken broth. Stir everything until well blended.
Cover and seal the Instant Pot, then press the “Pressure Cook” button and cook for about 5 minutes.
Do a natural release, then remove the cover.
Add the thawed peas and stir until well mixed.
Cover the pot again and cook the peas for a few more minutes.
Fluff the rice with a fork, then stir everything until well mixed.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
Notes:
You can use your favourite type of rice for this recipe. I would recommend Jasmine rice, basmati rice, or anything long-grained.
You can make this dish ahead of time. Just put it in an airtight container, then put it inside the freezer.
