Easy, luscious, and delicious! These apple fritters never fail to light up my day. Give it a try and I am sure that you will love it. Enjoy!
Ingredients:
1 c all-purpose flour
¼ c granulated sugar
¾ tsp salt
1 ½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp ground cinnamon
⅓ c milk (used low-fat)
1 large Egg
1 c apple, chopped (used 2 small apples, peeled)
Oil (for frying, we used vegetable oil)
FOR THE GLAZE:
2 c powdered sugar
1 ½ Tbsp milk
Directions:
Step 1: In a medium mixing bowl, add in the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, sugar, and salt. Whisk until well mixed.
Step 2: Add in the egg, chopped apple, and milk. Stir until well combined.
Step 3: Place a skillet on the stove and turn the heat to medium.
Step 4: Add in enough oil and allow it to heat at 350 degrees F or 175 degrees C.
Step 5: Spoon the mixture and drop them into the hot oil. Cook each side for 2 minutes or until brown.
Step 6: Place the apple fritters on a clean plate lined with a paper towel to drain any excess oil.
Step 7: Let them sit on a wire rack to cool at room temperature.
To Make the Glaze:
Step 1: In a small mixing bowl, add in the powdered sugar and milk. Stir until well mixed.
Step 2: Drizzle each apple fritter with the glaze. Wait 3 minutes, then drizzle the other side as well.
Step 3: Serve warm and enjoy!
